Prosper Daye Sr., father of Prosper, was killed in a mine accident in Canmore, Alberta, June 13, 1900.
A long time boarder with the Daye family was Charles Schroeder, another victim of the Hillcrest Mine Disaster. Brother Bernard may have married Hannah, sister of John Foster, another victim of the Hillcrest Mine Disaster.
